Montreux, February 2009 - For its 25th anniversary, the Montreux Volley Masters makes a wonderful gift to the spectators: the Olympic Champion, FIVB ranked N°1 team in the world, Brazil, will be back on the Swiss Rivera after two year’s absence! The return of the staggering South-Americans will no doubt generate incredible plays. On the occasion of their last two appearances in Montreux, the “Oriverde” had nothing but won the tournament, two years in a row. In Beijing, they proved to be in such a good shape that they were almost “undefeatable”. Furthermore, four out of the five best teams in the world will also attend the event in Montreux from June 9th to 14th, 2009. The remaining four teams also belong to the world elite.
In 2009. the Montreux Volley Masters will return to its traditional and long-appreciated formula with 8 teams divided in two preliminary pools followed by semi-finals (Saturday) and finals (Sunday) during the weekend. With 6 of the 10 top FIVB ranked teams and two very attractive teams among the 15 top, the level of play will be higher as ever. The qualification games will be played from Tuesday to Friday (at 16h30, 18h30 and 21h), Saturday being dedicated to semi-finals and Sunday to final games.

Yung bagong coach pala ng Russian Women's National Team ay si Vladimir Kuzyutkin here's the whole article:
Bagnoli and Kuzyutkin appointed new head coaches in Russia
Italian Daniele Bagnoli is new coach of the Russia Men's team Moscow, Russia, February 18, 2009 – The Russian Volleyball Federation has named Daniele Bagnoli as new head coach of the men’s national team and Vladimir Kuzyutkin as new head coach of the women’s national team.
Italian Bagnoli, currently Dinamo Moscow head coach, will take the helm for the next two years. The previous men’s coach was Vladimir Alekno.
Kuzyutkin, current coach of Russian team Balakovskaia Balakovo, takes over from Vadim Pankov, who is replaced after five months in the job.
American Dane Selznick – a former elite Beach Volleyball player who served as a United States Olympic coach three times – has also been drafted in to take charge of all activities related to the very best Russian Beach Volleyball duos.
Both Bagnoli and Selznick were unanimously appointed by the 25-strong RVF Board of Administration. For the women’s national team position, Kuzyutkin received 12 votes, eight Board members opted to retain Pankov while five abstained from voting. The Board also defined the main goals for the seasons to come. For the men’s team, this is a gold medal at the 2009 European Championships and to reach the final of the 2010 FIVB World Championships.
The Russian authorities expect the women’s team to claim a medal at both aforementioned international events.
Both Bagnoli and Kuzyutkin will finish the ongoing season with their respective clubs before working exclusively for the national teams according to the clauses included in the contracts they signed with the RVF.
The 55-year-old Bagnoli is considered as one of the most successful Volleyball coaches ever, having won the Italian national league eight times (six times with Sisley Treviso), plus many more trophies, including five European Champions Leagues and two CEV Cups. He moved to Moscow to start working with Dinamo in the 2007/08 season. He heads a national team for the first time with this new appointment.

Same with China who will have a new coach coupled with new and young players
China chooses young coach Cai to lead women's national team
Bin Cai is the new head coach of the Chinese Women's team Beijing, China, March 23, 2009 – In order to insert new life into the Chinese Women's national team, the China Volleyball Association has plumped for Bin Cai to replace Zhonghe Chen as head coach.
Li Xu, head of the Chinese Volleyball Administration Center and Vice President of the CVA, announced the decision Monday at a press conference in Beijing. He requested the former Chinese Women’s youth team head coach and former national team player pick the new-look Chinese team as quickly as possible and draw up a training plan before early April.
The 43-year-old Cai said, “I know very well that the Chinese women’s team is loved very much by Chinese people and being the head coach I have heavy responsibilities on my shoulders and am facing serious challenges in the coming days. However, I am confident of taking the women’s team to a higher level.”
Cai said he will concentrate on scientific training and do his best to avoid injuries, which are some of the main obstacles in raising the teams’ level.
“I have some advantages as I have been head coach of the youth team for many years and have a good understanding of the world top teams, young players of the world’s strong teams and the development trends in women’s Volleyball in the world. So I have full confidence of leading my team to good results.”
Cai was born in Shanghai in 1966 and at the age of 12 he entered Shanghai Youth and Junior Sport School to play Volleyball. He was selected by the Shanghai Men’s team in 1985 before entering the national team. He left the playing court in 1996 and got involved in coaching and took the post of head coach of Shanghai women’s team in 1997.
He has a fine tradition in Chinese coaching circles and is seen by many as a high level coach who has mastered advanced Volleyball theories on technique and tactics.
Cai won the Best Coach award of the Chinese National League four times in a row after his team – Shanghai Women’s club – completed a run of four consecutive National League titles. In addition, his club team also won the national championship and the AVC Cup club tournaments twice.
Cai has been in charge of the Chinese Women’s youth Volleyball team since 1999, the same year as the side claimed fourth place at the FIVB Women’s Junior World Championship. Cai then led China to the Asian Junior Women’s Championship title in 2000 and 2002, bronze medals at the 2001 and 2005 Women’s Junior World Championship and silver medals at the 2003 and 2007 Women’s Junior World Championship.
He has also led the Chinese Women’s national ‘B’ team to victory at the East Asian Games in 2001.

From China View: Latest results of women's volleyball tournament in China..
China trounces Cuba to win int'l women's volleyball tournament LUOHE, Henan Province, May 31 (Xinhua) -- Beijing Olympic bronze medallist China trounced traditional powerhouse Cuba 25-17, 25-21 and 25-15 to win the 2009 China International Women's Volleyball Tournament here on Sunday.
China's Li Juan (R) spikes the ball during a match between China and Cuba at the 2009 Chinese Women's Volleyball Tournament in Luohe, a city of central China's Henan Province, May 31, 2009. China won 3-0, and got the champion of the tournament with all victories. (Xinhua/Wang Song) Photo Gallery>>> The Chinese women were crowned in their first competition under the guidance of Cai Bin, who took the helm of the national team in March, with three straight wins in the four-team round robin tournament.
"I am very happy that our team is in good rhythm and spirit. Hopefully we can keep improving," said the 42-year-old Cai, former head coach of the Chinese national youth team.
"Despite the victory, I think we should keep working on our receiving and combination," he added.
Xue Ming, the 1.93-meter star blocker, led Chinese scorers for the third game in a row after notching 14 points while Wang Yimei, who changed her position from outside hitter to opposite, added 13 points.

(Xinhua/Wang Song) Photo Gallery>>> "Wang played better and better in her new position, and I will stick to the tactic of making her faster in attack," Cai said.
With the retirement of Yumilka Ruiz, Zoila Barros, Daimi Ramirez, the young Cuban team found it hard to tear open the solid defense led by Xue Ming and the 1.89-meter Ma Yunwen with Giselle Silva emerging as its top scorer with just eight points.
The only opportunity for Cuba came in the second set when it overtook the lead with a 14-5 run to make it 18-15. However, the Chinese women went ahead again with an 8-1 surge thanks to consecutive Cuban errors.
China reaped a total of 25 points from Cuba's mistakes in the 66- minute match.
Earlier on Sunday, Turkey beat the Dominican Republic 3-0 to finish third.
The four teams will play another round robin tournament in Kunshan, Jiangsu Province from Wednesday to Friday.

share lang din, kaya wala na yung mga veterans ng china ay dahil sa bago nilang coach. I forgot his name na. basta, nagpa-open tryouts ulit siya, and he prioritized younger players.
