I am just sad that Murilo was cut off from the men's team and Jaque was used sparingly to give way to Natalia as the second OH.
I am rooting for Netherlands to make it to the quarterfinals and hopefully sa semis. However if they will rank 4 after the elim rounds, chances are they will meet either Brazil or Russia who will probably top Pool A.
But of course, bias ako sa Brazil kasi sila ang favorite team ko simula pa nong nahilig ako sa volleyball. Three-peat sana. At napansin ko sa stat sheets na di pinasok si Thaisa sa first two games. Well, Cameroon at Argentina ang kalaban. Maybe in big matches makikita na natin siyang maglaro.

Kung di lang na-injured yung OH ng NED, may laban sila pa-finals. Kaso, tiyak namang gigising ang USA, SoKor, and others. Di na ako umaasa masyado sa Japan. China naman, so-so lang. Support lang dahil ka-Asia natin (vomiting). Sa Men's, parang this is the best chance for Argentina and Italy. And btw, WHERE ARE THE PLAYERS OF RUSSIA (Musersky, Viktor, Spirinodov, etc)? Jusko, si tangkad lang ang kilala ko. Nadamay ba sila dun sa doping issue?

Yun na ang best nya eh?! hahaha.. Anong bet nyo sa Men's and Women's magfinals? Sa Men's, It'll be between Brazil and Italy in Pool A and maybe Poland and Argentina in Pool B sa semis crossover with Brazil and Poland having a little advantage to progress in the Finals. Sa Women's, Brazil or Russia and maybe a little hope for SoKor in Pool A and USA and Netherlands or Serbia sa semis with Brazil and USA still to meet in the finals unless it will be a Brazil-USA semis which I doubt will happen. Ang tight ng women's side, na alam mo may pwedeng maupset sa mga higher ranked teams by the underdogs (hello Netherlands). And yes, Thaisa is still recovering from an injury. Maybe after some good rest, she'll be ready to face tough opponents in their pool and in the quarterfinals and hopefully go to the finals once again. Agree with you that Murilo has passed his prime so it's high time to give way to young and promising players. I think Muserskiy is injured and did not fully recover in time for Rio 2016. The chance for them to defend the crown is quite hard basing on their pool performance but if they bring some good old tricks from the London 2012, maybe just maybe they can progress in the quarters but a Finals appearance is farfetched.

Maybe Bernardhinho is banking on more fire power, that's why he chose the other guys over Murilo. Murilo himself did say he wasn't well, although I think he's still good enough to act as a defense specialist/passer. Lipe Fonteles doesn't impress me at all, and all I can see in him is that he is useful with annoying the opponent. Muserskiy begged off, if I'm not mistaken, because of an injury. Russia losing to Argentina is just fascinating to me. Sana, may lumabas na kopya ng laban sa Youtube. The men's team of USA has started out meh, but hey they just beat Brazil. Their remaining games are against France and Mexico, and I really hope they beat them. Sa women's I hope China loses to USA in their last game, and then Russia keeps their number two position para sila ang maglaban sa crossover quarters. And then Russia beats them. Hehehe! In any case, it seems that the teams that will move to the next round are set na, it's just the ranking that's not decided yet. Lots of tough matches ahead for the top teams.

Yes. Sa women's side, positioning na lang ang pinaghahandaan pero sa men's sa pool A medyo labo2x na kasi USA won against Brazil so may pag-asa pa sila. Laban sila ng Canada sa fourth place.

To make things more exciting for the men's side, USA got their second win after defeating France 3-1 and Russia prevailed over Poland in a thrilling 5-setter match. It's a slim chance for Canada to advance to the quarterfinals. It's Brazil, France, Italy and USA for pool A and Argentina, Iran, Poland and Russia for pool B. Exciting how Russia is slowly getting their rhythm back and peaking at the right time.

A must win game for the Brazilian men's side tomorrow against France or else they will be in danger of not going through the quarterfinals.

The last spot in pool A of men's side is a winner-take-all match between France and Brazil as Canada managed to take two sets from the Italian side giving them set ratio and point ratio advantage over the two teams. A pressure-packed game for both sides as they try to make it to the quarterfinals.

Hala. Yari ang Brazil. I think Bernardinho gambled too much on his choice of outside hitters. He should have called Murilo for experience and floor defense. O kaya kahit si Dante. Hindi pa naman retired 'yon e.
BTW, what are your thoughts on the Italian WVT?

Okay. This is just in: Brazil eliminated France. Woohoo! And you know what's interesting? The leader of the other group, Argentina is said to have aimed to get the highest possible position in their grouping so as to avoid Brazil in the crossover. Ang malas!

He has good defense kahit na di na explosive attacks niya. The Italian WVT paid the prize of bringing young and inexperienced players to Rio. They have a big chance of beating China and Netherlands if they only had veterans like the Bosetti sisters and others.
