out of the asian men's senior championship, here's the ranking of the SEA teams from highest to lowest: indonesia, myanmar, vietnam, thailand and the philippines. indonesia's outside hitter, andri, was awarded the best spiker of the tournament. i must say that i had underestimated myanmar and vietnam. they are actually tall. ang mga setter pa nga nila ay kasing laki ni chris macasaet, at mga ang libero ay 5'9-5'10. their wing hitters, especially the opposite hitters (tun oo win of myanmar; i forgot the vietnamese guy's name) are tall and pack a lot of power. napansin ko na sa maraming teams, opposite hitters ang pinaka-reliable.

They are the most skilled players. They can attack well in 4, 5 and 6 positions as well as the "open". They are usually assigned as the second setter and mostly have good floor defense as well as blocking since they have to block the opponent's outside hitter. If both setter and universal player are not good in blocking, just imagine how the opponent's outside hitter can create destruction to the team.
Notable universal players are from Korea-#14, Japan-#13, Iran, Indonesia-Ayip.

si andri? ang alam ko, outside hitter siya. si ayip rizal ang opposite nila. opposite hitters of many teams do not participate in reception though. ang receivers ng karamihan ng teams ay ang dalawang outside hitter at ang libero. sa mga napapansin ko talaga, mas magaling sa floor defense ang outside hitters. zone 4 is what we call as "open" or "outside." opposite hitters actually hit from everywhere, except zone 6. normally, they would only hit from zone 4, kapag nandoon sila during reception, or if during a rally, they can't switch to zone 2. some other notable opposite hitters i've seen: alain (lebanon), china's (chen ping yata), india's and sri lanka's.

I believe this post refers to me.... I posted here my observations base sa napanood ko. That is not the gauge para hindi namin ibahagi ang personal naming opinyon since this is a public forum. By the way, I watched all of your 3 matches. Siguro naman sapat na yan para sabihing I supported the team. Haay nakuuuu...

uy madrama pala dito. i lovit!
KUDOS to the Men's RP Team!
You did pretty well given less than a year of preparation. And the small amount of support and funding. Good job! Keep up the Training! Andun naman yung height, tsaka power, tsaka yung will to win. Never say die attitude. Ang nakita ko lang na things to improve on. (sana walang mag-taray sa akin) Nerves during critical moments tsaka speed which goes with the technique part of the game.
They know each other very well.
May pics ba kayo??? Post nyo naman.
