for 2020 olympics naman po... by 2013 pa malalaman ang host country but turkey(istanbul),japan(tokyo), and spain(madrid) are the bidders:) and Japan is at a disadvantage already on this one. I've read because JT (Japanese Tabacco) sponsors volleyball this implies negative implication to sports. (In WorldCup last year, there has been some reports that JT products were being sold in the venue, though not cigarettes per se because JT have many products). Most likely Madrid will win the bid!

Saori! Sampalin kita te. Gumising ka! ;D ROFL for me Thailand should blame Saori for their qualification and a bit of Yoshie ;D J/K They should not base their 2012 Olympic ticket loss to OTHER TEAMS! if you want a guaranteed ticket, win all your matches though I do not believe they will engage in a match fixing deal...I'm always skeptical, but if you watch the full sets. Saori was having a VERY VERY bad day in the office! She can't get her spikes working, either it was always point blocked or rejected and they have to recycle for a new play, she was forcing her spikes that shows her frustration, and in the middle of the match or in the fourth or fifth set she actually crossed the opponents court which implies to me, she's eager to really got her game working!!! but it didn't happen even in the fifth set. So, I doubt Saori will play 'bad' very early on (which is clearly evident) if their Olympic ticket is on the line.. don't know what happened to the versatile Saori who can just wipe the balls out of the blockers or go for offspeed shots...but I guess it's just really a bad day though because even her serve-receive was really off the whole match! And if Shinabe (she's responsible too for good receptions) and Araki didn't play well in that match against Serbia, they could have loss it 0-3! And did Artamonova played in the Japan match? what name is on her jersey??? I'm a fan of hers too, same time with Sokolova,..Artamonova was the captain then and she was like the major weapon of Russia whenever they were down in matches (because if I remember correctly) Carpol only calls her from the bench during tight matches... Also, How was the Olympic bracket/group really decided??

Saori may be one of the best but right now Kim is the queen of asia and until Saori can put on an extraordinary performance in the olympics then she will have a hard time recovering the throne.

On points sytem, Kim is definitely a scoring machine, but skill-sets wise..,I'll vote for Saori in any category Still, I enjoy watching both players

maybe kimura is a better all-around player but she needs to go a higher level than the japanese league which means winning the mvp award in this upcoming champions league after all getting there is not that hard as she will be with one of europe's best vakifbank the only question is will she be able to sieze the opportunity just like what kim did this year?

Yes awards are important, but winning it doesn't mean she/he's already the best in the world (it's a team sport afterall). It just mean he/she did the best in that tournament. I'm not really a trophy person, but more of a spectator who appreciates the details that interest me in the sport. Hence, I can only hope for my favourite players to do well in every match they play.

i'm not really an awards person either but my challenge for kimura is to separate herself from the competition in the champions league because in the end no matter if someone says "oh she is a great digger", "oh she has those deadly serves" etc. etc. at the end of the day the question is how much is the impact of those all-around skills to her team? besides im not saying that kim is the best player in the world in fact i do not have a clear answer to that (although in basketball it is lebron james for me) but the reason why i appreciate her more is that with limited skills she has killer instincts giving her all to the game.

ahhh I see.. Actually I have seen their game against Turkey... okay if that's her reason eh di "okay" ngayon lang ba sya nakahingi ng break sa national team? di ba pagod din yung iba nyang teammates? wag naman sana tamarin sila sabay ni Gamova, Sokolova at Estes.. si Kosheleva, Goncharova at Startseva na lang ang gusto ko sa new players ehh Naglaro siya sa turkey sa european qualifications. She begged off from the world qualifiers kasi pagod na siya (mukhang puno nga naman ang sched niya). Considering the quality of the teams that russia would be facing in the world's, mas kaya nga naman ng russian team kahit na wala siya. as in di nya lang talaga trip? pero maglalaro sya sa olympics? hmmm gusto ko si estes at sokolova sabay maglaro :/

Bakit namang may aangal?

And on top of that, kim is one of the most thoughtful gals out there. She tried to comfort the thai players and fans (in an interview) after the japan-serbia game. woot woot! i'm not really an awards person either but my challenge for kimura is to separate herself from the competition in the champions league because in the end no matter if someone says "oh she is a great digger", "oh she has those deadly serves" etc. etc. at the end of the day the question is how much is the impact of those all-around skills to her team? besides im not saying that kim is the best player in the world in fact i do not have a clear answer to that (although in basketball it is lebron james for me) but the reason why i appreciate her more is that with limited skills she has killer instincts giving her all to the game.

Estes po number 4?.. di po naging captain si Arta nung times na nasa team papo si Sokolova at i never recall na naging bench player siya ni Karpol..at tinatawag lang ni karpol pag tight matches?.. since 1993 to 2003 starter siya.....except 1994 na injured siya..starter po siya

nikolaikarpol, alam ko po si Artamonova ang Team Captain ng Russia nung 2004 Olympics sa Athens even though she's injured. She's wearing Jersey #8 pa nga nun.

Rarely na magkaroon ng ROI ang hosts straight away. Matagal ang hintay, and even china suffered after the beijing olympics. Bakit namang may aangal? Disadvantage nga sa kanila 'yon dahil ang laking gastos sa kanila no'n. diba malaki din naman ang ipapasok na pera nun sa kanila dahil sa turismo? isipin nalang ang kaliwat kanang souvenir items haha
