looks like hooker is back on her good form. sya yung best player yesterday against serbia. laki ng improvement ni larson lalo na sa defense even yung attack nya mataas na ang porsyento. i don't see hodge taking her place unless super improve ang reception nya. i can see germany as a top 3 team. thanks to grun. she was an opposite before then played beach volleyball for some time. she had no choice but to learn how to receive well. ngayon she plays as an OH na. i hope japan can upset china. it all boils down to their setter and how good their reception would be. I really like Larson's over-all play. She does everything so well, a big jump serve, good blocking, excellent digging and receiving and a superb attacking. Her play compliments a lot to that of Logan's play. Parang napaka underrated nila pareho but silently they make USA a very potent team kasi lahat naka focus kay Hooker or Akinradewo or Bown. Not to mention parang gusto ni Logan si Larson and vice-versa. If Larson continues to play like that, maswerte ang USA. Yang OH2 spot ng USA we've seen a rotating group of players pero lahat hindi tumagal like Kim Glass, Megan Hodge, etc dahil siguro sa pressure of playing that position alongside the great Logan Tom. I think Germany and Italy will fight it out for that 3rd spot. Pero my heart says Germany (I love Grun, Kozuch and ofcourse Furst).

Parang nag-dip as a team ang performance sa Brazil since nawala si Fofa. Tapos plagued pa ng injuries. Sana maging full-force na sila next time: Jacqueline, Natalia, and Garay. And I hope Sheilla gets her form back. Parang nakukulangan talaga ako sa kanya. Thank god maayos middle hitters nila.

^^ nasa late 20's na kasi sina mari, paula and sheilla. i think that they have reached their peak during 2008. plus the fact that their setters fabiola and dani aren't really as good as fofoa.

syang naman at na injured si Garay.. hoping to see her sana pa sa mga susunod na laro.. di ba pwedeng nagtawag pa ng isang replacement?? i don't evven imagine Sassa playing as a starting OH for the team.. nakukulangan talaga ako sa kanya.. buti na lang maganda reception at defense niya..

^ Nandun pa naman sila Mari and Paula. Ok pa Brazil. Malakas pa talaga sila! Parang minsan kasi nawawalan sila ng energy at hindi magkaintindihan sa court. Pero tingin ko ok na laro nila sa mga succeeding games.

It's easy to say with finality that USA will win this tournament. A team just needs to hand them an upset pero with the way things are, that would be very unlikely. USA is just a complete team. Take out Tom and you have Hooker, Akinradewo, or Larson. Take out Larson and you have Hooker, Akinradewo, or Bown. Take out Hooker and you still have Tom, Larson, Scott-Arruda. You get the drill. Plus they have a very steady setter in Berg.
The Brazil-USA match determined who will win the first slot in this tournament, I think those two are on a different league.
But Brazil is steadily losing their invincibility. They have great middles and their wing is still solid. Pero they have a recurring problem with their setter. I still don't understand why Dani Lins is preferred over Fabiola. I still see Fabiola as the steadier between the two.

For me, it was china who did the pushing. Japan looked poised to win in the third to the fifth sets even, but chinese power kept them from winning.

Wala sa Laola, unfortunately, kelangan mo talagang timingan yung mga livestreaming. about china and japan. i think asian teams had their own definition of what an opposite hitter should be. until china tried it recently (which they scrapped), asian opposite hitters simply added to the deception their teams always used. i'm actually glad that china replaced zhang jie with zhang lei in the starting line up. zhang jie just did not contribute much, and the chinese play as a whole looked like a half-baked european team. Zhang Jie confuses me. She's an OK MB/Opp, she has a decent backrow attack. Pero OK and decent just doesn't cut it. What they're doing now seems to work, a receiving Opposite in Zhang Lei and Wang Yimei as the outlet in the backrow.

Why am i the only one worried about the brazilian OH's? Haha! Anyhoo, i like fabíola better too. It's easy to say with finality that USA will win this tournament. BTW, hurrah Lucia Bosetti.
Lucia Bosetti is doing an awesome job at attacking. I never saw her as a good attacker, parang Del Core, you put her there for the purpose of receiving bonus points na lang yung points nila. She's hitting at around 60% not bad for a 175 cm OH/Opp.
Weird kasi yung stats ngayon e, pero she seems to be the Best Attacker in the tourney right now when you have to factor the number of attempts that she has made. Yung Best Attacker kasi ngayon on the stat sheet only made one attempt pero pumuntos, ayun 100% attack percentage na.

Humina na sila especially Paula. But their wing hitters are still better than most of the other teams except USA. This is where Fabiana and Thaisa come in. I think they saved Brazil in the Brazil-Germany match.
