Russia and cuba failed to qualify. Germany has always had the potential to beat the strongest teams. This year, bumalik si grün kaya mas naging stable sila lalo. ganun ba talaga kalakas ang germany? parang ngayun ko lang kasi sila nababalitaan/naririnig. Wala ung laging kong nakikita sa olympics like russia at cuba sayang

Hehe! Ganito: when you're done playig against everyone in your pool, you cross-over to the other pool and you play everyone there as well. Ergo, you have to win as many matches you can in order to win the tournament. No such thing as nagpapatalo just because you want to avoid a team in the world cup dahil walang crossover semis. single round robin lang ba o me cross over pa ang mga top 2 teams ng every bracket?? sana ganun para me thrill naman di ba..

Yes, she's 39 already. Matagal na siyang nasa national team, then nanganak. Considering her age, people didn't think she'd be called back lalo pa't malalim ang pool ng USA. Last month, sa pan-american games starter si barboza. wow !! scott aruda tama ba un naka lagay na age niya ,, 39 years old na siya or 29 lang? ngayon ko lang ulit siya nakita sa national team pati si barboza , ganun pa rin service specialist nalang ,, haha !! si mari dami comment bakit daw bangko siya ,, hehe so si alicia glass na talaga ang papalit kay berg after ng Olympics next year sa national team , hehe!!

Wala ung laging kong nakikita sa olympics like russia at cuba sayang I think so too. Dati kasi puro kay Kozuch yung bola, and it's also timely that Maren Brinker is getting better by the day.

Watched the replay of USA vs Brazil
I believe Akiradewo (USA) and Thaisa (Brazil) are 2 of the world's best MBs right now. Their attacking and blocking are just world-class. Not to mention they are still pretty young (They're both 23-24). (Gioli of Italy can make a case but her blocking hasn't been a weapon the fast few years...her attacking is still superb)

RE: China
Hui Ruoqi is deadly. She goes over the block of some players, maganda yung placement and power, I think she could even be better than Wang Yimei just because she is a more consistent player.
Wang Yimei is pure power and Wang Yimei's serve is a game changer. She can destroy defenses when she's on. Italy has to put up four players just to receive her serve, sobrang bilis kasi ng bola, wala ka nang oras para pumunta dun, kung mali yung placement mo at kelangan mo pang igalaw yung paa mo, di ka na aabot; ace na agad. Parang Zoila Barros yung serve niya, pero more power, less consistency.
Their opposite Zhang Lei reminds me a lot of Zhou Suhong, she's not really an opposite, para siyang third middle blocker. She's fast, aggresive, and defensive. Kaya na nila Wang Yimei and Hui Ruoqi yung backrow attack, they should stick to their formula of having 3 MBs.
The Japanese middle is still potent when given the chances.
Wei Qu Yue is stable, as always,
If the team has better reception and involves its middle more, hindi mababantayan yung big banging OH nila, I'm sure China will be in the Top 5 teams easily.

I got bored watching Serbia vs USA. Hahaha. Isa pa yang si Popovic (Serbian libero), its as if andali lang maglaro as libero, she's one of the few underrated liberos out there.
Seriously, I think Italy will place 3rd, Brazil 2nd, USA 1st. What USA should be thankful for is the improvement of Larson. USA's OHs are slowly taking charge, from defense to offense, all-around talaga.
Ewan ko ba why Paula continues to be a starter when in fact mas magaling naman si Mari...probably due to Paula's more stable receiving.

^ Si sassá? She's short like fernanda, but they have different attack approaches. Mas nilalakasan at binibilisan ni feranda, and she penetrates her blockers better.

She's a bit short for an MB (around 6'1) but don't be fooled by that frame, she's a verrrry good blocker, I believe she was Brazil Superliga's best blocker last year.

mukhang tinanggal na ng tuluyan ng fivb ang connection sa laola for the duration of the games. sa loala meron ata Wala sa Laola, unfortunately, kelangan mo talagang timingan yung mga livestreaming. about china and japan. i think asian teams had their own definition of what an opposite hitter should be. until china tried it recently (which they scrapped), asian opposite hitters simply added to the deception their teams always used. i'm actually glad that china replaced zhang jie with zhang lei in the starting line up. zhang jie just did not contribute much, and the chinese play as a whole looked like a half-baked european team.
