The team that worries me a lot is Italy. Italy was a major disappointment in the recently-concluded Grand Prix kahit bronze pa sila. Ano ba nangyari sa kanila? Si Ortolani and Del Core lang yata yung bright spots for the team pati yung libero...dig kung dig hehehe!

i hope bumalik na si kurihara sa japan team...to add more blockings at attacking power...but i have to say that saori sakoda and yukiko ebata are dong well in their job...as usual kimura still the force to reckon with sa japanese team...best scorer ba naman eh this grand prix...but i think they still little more height to match the height of other taller teams...hope na meron rin silang player na matatangkad na makasama sa line up

thrown in gioli there too. she'd been quite consistent during the grand prix too, lalo na sa offense. merlo...mas stable pa rin para sa akin si cardullo. The team that worries me a lot is Italy. yeah, their parents' generation stopped making children who'd be tall enough. (wala nang kana oyama, sugiyami, horai, etc) doon lang sa youth olympics e 5'7 ang average height ng japan. andrea zorzi once commented that one of the biggest flaws of japan is that they rarely read their opponent's plays--they don't adjust pretty well, they only care about their side of the net. maybe that's what they need to improve on. i hope bumalik na si kurihara sa japan team...to add more blockings at attacking power...but i have to say that saori sakoda and yukiko ebata are dong well in their job...as usual kimura still the force to reckon with sa japanese team...best scorer ba naman eh this grand prix...but i think they still little more height to match the height of other taller teams...hope na meron rin silang player na matatangkad na makasama sa line up

@ Karpol
Having seen Kosheleva and Goncharova play, mas gusto ko yung ganito:
OH1 - Gamova OH2 - Goncharova/Kosheleva Opp - Sokolova
That way, Sokolova will be a passing Opposite (Same with Logan Tom when she played with Dinamo Moscow... Ofcourse she needed to kasi andun si Gamova). Buti nalang Goncha and Koshe andun kasi I can't stand seeing Fateeva on that squad. Hehehe
LOL

Kasi daw she's not fast enough dun sa current style of play ng Japan. Which I totally concur. Slow kasi nga din si Kurihara although she has the height. Maliliit si Sakoda and Ebata but they get the job done. At ang lakas sa backrow. Saori naman sobrang gumaling.

bakit hindi? nag-ri-receive si haneef dati a. there's a chance that sokolova will sit out receiving in some rotations kasi one middle blocker will be receiving too (on a side note, walewska was made to receive doon sa russian league. nang makita ko 'yon ay nagunaw ang mundo. juk). sino-sino na nga ba ang mga magiging mb ng russia? balik na ba si merkulova?

i think russia will make it to the finals again... toss up between brazil usa and china cguro ung isa pang slot...
i love joyce of brazil, kung pwede sana OH n lng c sheila tapos c joyce sa OPP... hehe... d ako kc maka-natalia...
for USA... sana mag improve pa c megan hodge kc may rivalry cla nung college ni hooker d b? cla tlga ung go to girls nung teams nila... d ako masyado maka larson kc walang killer instinct ung palo nya...

jp4000: yes, may rivalry si hooker at hodge but ill give it to hooker. she's the complete athlete. she can even qualify sa us national team as high jumper. kaya lang mas mukhang lamang si hodge because her team then would end up as champions. maraming tulong from her team mates. anyway, iba ang attack nila hodge prefers low set and she can even do b quick while hooker is more on high sets though she's learning low sets and slide attacks.
