very tough luck to one of the more popular sports here in the Philippines... I hope that people in the position to decide on this realize that sports is not all about winning... It's about teamwork, pride, and of course love for the sport... Our athletes are very talented.. all they need is chance, all out support and our trust... To our national government, ndi naman po pedeng mag expect ng so much to our players when they join international competitions. Primarily because, there is no on-going support for the sport... we only establish the national team when the competition is fast approaching, buti sana kung individual sport ang volleyball wherein ok lang na magtrain mag isa.. It's a team sport, and like every team sport, kailangan nila ng cooperation and they need time to get to know each other... Oddly as it sounds, but it's true, kpag kilalang kilala mo na ang isang tao, you don't have to talk that much,, you just get the person... Well, i hope na mabasa lahat ng posts about this topic ng mga kinauukulan... Huwag po nating patayin ang naghihingalong sektor ng sports... Sports unite people everywhere... Let's just hope for the best and continue the support for our local players... Thanks to v-league dahil nagkaron ng venue ang mga ndi masyadong napapansin na sport dati... Great amount of credit should be given to them for the popularity that the sport reached today!!! Thank you, and sna magkaron pa ng maraming shakey's management who understands not only the sports of volleyball but lahat ng sports... eom

kung d sasali RPWVT at RPMVT sa Sea Games bakit pa cla nag training?? gumastos pa sa wala. stupid, old, inefficient, unproductive, corrupt, trapo officials again and again make our lives miserable. who wants to be aboard a sinking ship?

nakakalungkot isipin na halos napag-iiwanan na tayo ng ating mga karatig bansa sa larangan ng sports. sa olympics lagpas dekada na tayong di nakakakuha ng medalya. it's a sad truth. a country's sports development/dominance correlates to its economic situation. and where are we compared to our neighbors? we do have world champions but we never had an olympic gold medalist.
sana maisip ng mga nasa pwesto na kailangan talagang paglaanan ng pondo ang ating mga atleta. sana mabigyan ang ating mga atleta ng magandang incentives. fighting for the country's honor and glory is a motivating factor. pero mas mabisang motivating factor ang malaking prize money. i think it's that sum which greatly motivates our world champions.

This is the latest news on RP delegation to Laos SEA Games. The entry will be increased as per POC. Sana kasama na ang RP WVT & MVT natin dito. Though no final list published yet. www.manilatimes.net/index.php/sports/4487-olympic-committee-eyeing-200-athletes-to-laosOlympic committee eyeing 200 athletes to Laos Friday, 23 October 2009 00:00 The Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) will send a “lean and mean” RP delegation to the 25th Southeast Asian (SEA) Games this December and has reiterated that it will never relinquish its mandate to name the athletes in that contingent to the Philippine Sports Commission. POC executives refused to give a rough estimate on the size of the RP delegation but a highly reliable source said that the local Olympic body will most likely stick to the 213 athletes it initially endorsed before the Sports commission trimmed it down to 153. “Right now we’re just polishing a bit of discrepancies like players who became coaches, coaches who became team managers, but more or less parang ganun na ‘yung number,” said the source, adding that the official list was a product of negotiations between the POC and PSC Commissioner Joey Mundo. Mario Tanchangco, the country’s chief of mission to the SEA Games, leaves on Friday for Laos to submit the official lineup of the Philippine delegation, beating the October 26 deadline set by the Laos Organizing Committee. Olympic committee President Jose “Peping” Cojuangco, who just arrived from Copenhagen after attending the International Olympic Committee Congress, asked the technical committee to include not just the names of the bets but a justification on how they made it to the official lineup. Cojuangco pointed out certain irregularities in the Sports commission-approved list and added that to avoid such incidents, the Olympic committee must be allowed to perform its mandate and functions. “The POC must have the privilege of naming the athletes. If not, we would be allowing government intervention. They [those in the PSC] are not in a position to identify the athletes,” said Cojuangco in a radio interview. Cojuangco added that some of his friends from the private sector have expressed their support to fund some of the athletes, who will need about P70,000 each, and he is confident that more help will come.
