The Season 70 women's volleyball has becoming exciting in every game, especially the eliminations is about to finish. The final 4 will eventually starts. The final 4 will bring out the best in every team because this is the point of no return. PATAYAN NA DITO! Ang matalo tagal at uuwing luhaan. We the remorse, better luck next season. The finals is still up for grabs among UST, FEU, or ADU. You can't predict who will emerge as the CHAMPION, because you can't determine what kind of game they will show during these times. Hope for the best for the teams who will face in the finals. Who will deserve the title " BEST OF THE BEST", that's what we have to find out.

Luck will be a determinant who will be the champion. Hindi na lang skills and talents ang pinag uusapan ngayon. Its really hard to predict.

I agree lidoc. One more reason why it has become so memorable is the competition itself. No offense to season 69 pero etong season 70 halos lahat ng teams may laban. And see? the fact that ADMU and DLSU are slugging it out with the final seat would really mean competitiveness.

FROM MANILA BULLETIN
UAAP volleyball: UST dumps UE for 10th win
Francis Santiago
Defending champion University of Santo Tomas leaned on the forays of hard-hitting Venus Bernal to trounce University of the East, 25-22, 25-21, 25-13, in the 70th UAAP women’s volleyball tournament yesterday at the Blue Eagle Gym.
UE defender Mary Cristel Rosales (right); UST bet Mary Jean Balse The 5-foot-8 Bernal, last year’s Finals MVP, scored 21 points, 18 coming from attacks, three from blocks and highlighted her brilliant showing with an ace to lead the España-based squad to their 10th win in 12 starts to tie Far Eastern University at second.
Bernal was ably supported by reigning MVP Mary Jane Balse who contributed 15 markers as the Tigresses handed the Red Skirts their 11th loss in 12 games.
UE actually had the chance to steal the second set when it unleashed a blistering run that pushed them to within 19-21 on a drop shot by Ellaine Roces.
But the Red Skirts fell into a maze of errors thus allowing the Tigress to cruise along the way.
Adamson remains on top of the leaderboard at 10-1.
Despite the win, coach Augusto Sta. Maria was far from being satisfied.
"We are playing too far from our usual game. Kulang pa rin sa intensity. And some players are not performing well," Sta. Maria, who steered UST to three titles in the Shakey’s V-league, said. "I just hope mag-peak sila in time for the semifinals."
Earlier, FEU demolished La Salle, 25-8, 25-18, 25-13.
In the men’s play, reigning champion FEU overpowered National University, 25-11, 25-6, 25-10 for its 11th win in 12 starts while Ateneo outsteadied Adamson, 25-21, 25-16, 18-25, 25-21.

Tigresses dump La Salle spikers; Lady Eagles win
Philippine Daily Inquirer First Posted 02:33:00 02/07/2008
MANILA, Philippines -- Defending champion University of Santo Tomas overcame a sluggish start to overpower De La Salle University, 25-23, 23-25, 25-13, 25-17, and move closer to a twice-to-beat bonus in the UAAP women’s volleyball tournament Wednesday at the Blue Eagle Gym in Quezon City.
In the other game, Ateneo de Manila University bounced back from a six-point third set deficit to stop also-ran University of the Philippines, 25-19, 25-21, 27-25.
The win enabled the Lady Eagles to momentarily overtake archrivals Lady Archers for fourth place, 7-6 to 6-7.
The Tigresses poured their might in the third set with last season’s Most Valuable Player Venus Bernal, Mary Jean Balse and Angeli Tabaquero scoring almost at will.
Balse blocked Michelle Datuin to clinch UST’s 11th win in 13 matches, half a game ahead of first semfinalist Far Eastern University which dropped to third place at 10-2.
Adamson University still leads with an 11-1 slate.
The Tigresses and the Lady Falcons will cross paths on Sunday at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum
Ateneo, which won its second straight match, boosted its bid for a first-ever semifinal appearance since joining the league in 1978.
The win did not come easy though as the Lady Maroons almost forced a fourth set when they went up, 23-17, after rookie Lady Eagle Kara Acevedo’s shot went outside.
The Lady Eagles, however, managed to claw back, with reserve Bianca Sison scoring the game-tying kill, 24-all.
UP took the lead anew, 25-24, courtesy of a down-the-line hit by Jolina Hernandez but Charo Soriano and Patti Taganas responded with back-to-back smashes to give Ateneo a 26-25 lead.
A lifting violation by UP setter Carmela Lopez sealed Ateneo’s victory.
The 22-year old Soriano banged a game-high 17 points.

I was on the Men's volleyball side of things (where UP was playing) so I only glanced at the scoreboard from time to time. All I know was that the 1st set was close, but the other sets were dominated by DLSU.
