magaling nga talaga c semana kaso nga just like what set08 said kulang sa height c semana! pwede cgugo cyang maging setter ng rp team pero parati lng cyang nasa back line, isa pa d lng cya magaling mag set magaling din cya sa floor deffence kaya I think she'll be an effective back liner.

I really dont know who is the member of the RP Womens Volleyball team? Can you update me also about the condition of coach august.
Buti pa ang sa men's meron silang list.
Please po. Im new here and recently ko lang nalaman na meron pala akong talent sa volleyball.

Ilan diyan eh si Venus Bernal, MJ Balse, Angeli Tabaquero. Denise Tan, Su Roces, etc.

A veteran scribe who used to be editor of this page called Wednesday to react to a recent Huddle column on volleyball, a sport he loved to cover when he was still a young scribe.
The former editor, who requested anonymity, said that while it was good that there are developmental leagues like the Shakey’s V-League and “burgeoning summer volleyball camps for boys and girls,” when will this strong interest translate into stronger national teams?
“Philippine volleyball is not beach volleyball,” he pointed out, “Despite the attractiveness of Heidi Ilustre and Diane Pascua, the indoor game is the core of the sport and with the Philippine Volleyball Federation (PVF) deciding not to send a team to the 2007 SEA Games, it is not sending the right message to its supporters.”
In the l970’s, the veteran scribe said the old PAVA (Philippine Amateur Volleyball Association) fought for national teams to be sent to international meets even if these were not expected to win.
“By not sending a national team to international competitions, what will our players strive for?”
“The excuse given by an official of the PVF was that it was very expensive to send a men’s and women’s team to the 2007 Southeast Asian Games (in Thailand).”

From 1977 to 198l, then in 1985 to 1987, the scribe said our women’s team was the strongest in Southeast Asia. The last time we won was in l993 in Singapore with our team backstopped by some veterans of the l980s team.
“It’s true that we have fallen into a funk, but there have been encouraging signs of recovery in the past few years,” he said. “Let’s hope that the Shakey’s V-League continues to soldier on in order to help the federation come up with a good team for the 2009 Southeast Asian Games.”
That is, if the PVF decides to participate in the next SEA Games which will be held in Laos.
From what I heard, the federation has hired a national coach who has been imported from Korea. The only thing to do now is to form a national team. Or two national teams.
Perhaps Sen. Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan, who used to be a national player and who now sits on the PVF board as chair, could spearhead the move.

semana is talented but i would still go for rubie..  VERY MUCH AGREE!! SEMANA IS INDEED A VERY TALENTED SETTER, BUT EVERYTIME I WATCH HER I SEE RUBIE DE LEON, ESP.
