Brazil deafeated Korea in 5 sets! 25-22, 18- 25, 25-18 13- 25, 8- 15. Top Scorers: Kim Yeon-Koung - 29 pts Castro Sheilla - 19 pts Brazil was actually defeated BY Korea. Check the scores. Yey for an upset! Other way around, Brazil avoided an upset by defeating Korea in 5 sets. Most Impressive Player award though was from the losing team, Kim Yeon Koung.

Hallo, guys! Can any of you enlighten me on what exactly a running set is? Haha Hmm.. In international games, a set can either be a running set or a still set. I think (I think lang ha, di ako sure) kung yung pag-set ng seter is nag-jump siya basta wala sa ground ang paa while setting while a still set is kung naka tayo lang siya dun while setting. Stupidd answer by me. Hahaha

even though im a big fan of US i wouldn't mind them losing to the likes of s. korea or kenya. but if you noticed they are so focused and seems to know how each other's play well. that was lacking a year ago. they are like the brazil of 2008. I agree. USA is like Brazil of 2008 and even to some extent Italy of 2007. Para sa akin ah what makes USA so good right now is yung fluidity ng movements nila. From receiving, to attacking to blocking. Parang robotic na nga at some point pero they play the game as if andali lang. And one big difference between the USA of 2008 to today's team is the presence of a point scorer, a big banger and a bail out hitter -- Destinee Hooker. Before kasi it was all Logan Tom kaya nung binantayan siya nung finals vs Brazil, ayun walang ibang makapagcontribute. Ngayon, i stop mo man si Logan Tom andiyan si Hooker, stop Hooker and may Akinradewo and etc. If they carry this momentum til London games, they'll be huge favorites for the title.

Just watched Germany vs Serbia. Big difference when you don't have your Setter #1, OH #1 and Opp #1. LOL! I miss Ognjenovic, Brakocevic and Malagurski. Haaayst!
Kudos to Germany. Team effort! Lakas talaga ni Grun, medyo awkward lang yung way of spiking but still very effective. Kozuch is fun to watch! Noticeableeeee improvement from Maren Brinker. Gumaling siya ha! Also, the middles played very well (Furst and Sschukke-Voigt).
Now waiting for that Italy-Germany match, IMHO, whoever wins on that match will take the 3rd spot. Goodluck!

..ang alam ko sa setting..if the that given set was turned into points...considered yun na excellent set..eh....di ako sure dun ah.... I read somewhere naman that an excellent set is one where the setter is able to split the blockers of her attackers. Not sure.

i have to commend that USA has the deeper bench this coming years, sa laki ba nmn ng bansa nila cguro naman dapat tlga makakuha cla ng magagaling na players... pero syempre wala sa laki ng bansa yan, hahaha

Lol. I appreciate the answers, guys, but my question was specifically about the running set.
About the comparison...so which was better, italy 2007 o brazil 2008? I agree that usa is a lot more fluid now. They're almost like one living organism (japan meanwhile is virtually a one living organism. Lol). Berg is my favorite now.
Hindi ako nakapanood ng games ngayong araw. So anong nangyari sa korea-brazil match? What do you think korea did right and/or brazil wrong?

Germany vs USA later. USA has always been good vs Germany pero with Grun around, I think it might be more difficult or could even be an upset (not wishing).
