sori for those harsh words.. but that's the reality. POLITICS here in our country makes us SUFFER.

is this confirmed? if it were, i wouldn't be surprised. pvf is full of people who don't have the skills to manage everything--from money to people. many officials there, according to someone i know, are former referees, coaches and athletes who are inexperienced when it comes to managing an organization. the problem is not the politicians, but the people within pvf who themselves are fond of politicking. that drives the good people out too.

I remember this is the very same problem that hounded the then PAVA Philippine Amateur Volleyball Association some years back when they faced FIVB sanctions due to the unpaid event rights from the series of Grand Prix held in ULTRA. To avoid the million pesos of penalty, they collapsed PAVA and created PVF which is the same banana with a new name. That was a big mistake, a very cowardly and unremorseful way of avoiding responsibilities and financial obligations. And look where it brought them now? Exactly 360 degrees where they left off. It seems the saying is true, what goes around comes around. You cannot hide from karma.
Not to drill PVF any further and add insult to injury, PVF needs to be creative with its assets to get out of the deep hole they are in. It needs to use its assets (volleyball events, players, fans, supporters, sponsors and connections) to generate funds, pay their dues and create a strong organization. They need to be enterprising. TATAP (Table Tennis) elected Sen. Trillanes as their president. Badminton has Ming Ramos, Athletics has that Go Teng Kok. I mean if the problem is funds, better get it where it can be found. In the pockets of rich politicians and sponsors right?
You don't need to be a genius to think of inviting Sen. Pia Cayetano as the ceremonial PVF President, i mean she needs a network of supporters as much as the next politician. Then the funds will come in because you have an influential senator as your titular head. PVF wake up! The solution is all right there.

Olympic body gives volleyball elections a go
THE Philippine Olympic committee has finally given its nod for the Philippine Volleyball Federation to hold its election of officers after a high-ranking official of the FIVB, the world governing body for volleyball, clarified that contrary to earlier reports, it has not suspended the local federation.
The POC has assigned its auditor Corinna Mojica to observe the polls.
In a letter addressed to incumbent vice president Gener Dungo, FIVB director Daniela Pirri Joly certified that the PVF has not been suspended as a member of the international federation.
Joly, though, confirmed reports that the PVF owes the international federation $100,000, but said that they will discuss the matter with the newly elected officials of the PVF after the elections set Nov. 19.
“We hope that a solution will be found which is acceptable to both parties because the debt was incurred by the previous board several years ago,” wrote Joly.
The PVF sought clarification with the FIVB after it learned that the POC will not send a representative to its polls if the PVF was indeed suspended from the membership list of the FIVB.
Former Department of Education secretary Jesli Lapus, now a congressman for the third district of Tarlac, has signified his intention to run for the PVF’s top post, along with Dungo and Vip Isada, a PVF director. Peter Atencio
