Ngayon ko lang narealize, maybe UST has not suited up for a 5 setter pa since they have been working like horses in the recently concluded v-league. Tapos DLSU pa nakalaban. I believe na pagod pa sila . . Sana makabawi sila.
I'm still a believer

Congrats my fav. team DLSU Lady Spikers...
Grabe akala ko talaga nung una wala laban dlsu kasi tinalo sila ng uste sa unigames pero hindi ko inexpect yung determinasyon nila manalo... Grabe sobrang kinabahan talaga ako...Pareho pa mga score from 1st set to 4th set..
UST grabe what a great game! after ng pagkaka champion nila sa vleague magandang laro ang binigay kanina.
Grabe!!! Goodluck sa mga makakalban nyo pa UST at DLSU...

DLSU wins opener in women's volleyball By Alder T. Almo 08 December 2009 07:04 PM
Manila – The defending champion De La Salle University (DLSU) Lady Archers showed that they are still the team to beat right in their league debut.
The Lady Archers came from behind to nip University of Sto. Tomas Tigresses in five gripping sets, 20-25, 25-20, 22-25, 25-22, 15-11, in the UAAP Season 72 women’s volleyball tournament at the FilOil Fying V Arena in San Juan.
DLSU, which skipped the Shakey’s V League in the pre-season, proved they still have what it takes to defend their UAAP crown. It was a redemption win for them after losing in straight sets to the same team in the Unigames in Bacolod last October.
Fresh from winning their record fifth Shakey’s V League crown in style last week, UST appeared headed to a big win after getting the first set but faded in the homestretch.
After Shakey’s V League conference and Finals MVP Aiza Maizo scored four straight points to tie the final set, 11-all, the Lady Archers blanked them the rest of the way to run away with the victory.
“Medyo hirap. Madami pang kailangang i-adjust. Pero step-by-step naman ‘yan,” DLSU coach Ramil de Jesus said.
Stephanie Mercado led the Lady Archers’ attack with 28 hits including the match point in the final set.
Charleen Cruz added 21 points while Jacqueline Alarca had 11 to caution the impact left by last season’s MVP Manila Santos, Michelle Datuin and Celine Hernandez, who already used up their playing eligibility years.
UST, meanwhile, drew 21 points from Maizo and 18 hits from rookie Maru Banaticla. Angeli Tabaquero fired 14 points but her crucial lapses did the Tigresses in.
In the other match, Shakey’s V League runner up Adamson Lady Falcons kept their mastery over Far Eastern University Lady Tamaraws with a straight set victory, 25-18, 25-17, 30-28.
Angela Benting powered the Lady Falcons with 24 hits while Jill Gustillo backed her up with 11 points.
The Lady Tamaraws, who sorely missed their former ace spiker Rachel Daquis, was led by Shaira Gonzales’ 13 points.
Come-from-behind win
Earlier in the day, FEU came back after yielding the first set to score a 3-1 win over National University Bulldogs, 20-25, 25-22, 25-15, 25-21 in the men’s tournament.
Kirk Beliran and Joshua Alcarde led the Tamaraws with 16 and 15 hits in the match that lasted 1 hour and 16 minutes.
In the other match, University of the East Red Warriors made quick work of the Adamson Falcons, 25-11, 25-22, 25-22, in just 59 minutes.
Dominic Estrada, Alvin Padilla and Benchard Pedrano scored 13, 12 and 11 points, respectively to lead the Warriors’ balanced attack.

ako im actually still happy and proud of their performance...off si maizo kaya puro hulog and soft spike....mas off si tabaquero sobra...ortiz and dmac didnt really click kanina...rhea was so so...fortuno di masyado nababasa ang mga serves and spikes ng kalaban....lahat ata off...si banaticla lang ang game...but still close fight - 5 sets...to think ang iingay ng dlsu and talagang they motivate each other while ust tahimik lang....plus the fact na may mga drums to support ang dlsu....pero ust still played hard kahit maraming errors....i still believe that UST will be the CHAMPIONS of this years UAAP =) hands down
and they need to keep their feet on the ground after winning UNIGAMES and VLEAGUE...alam naman natin ang mga tigresa kapag nananalo eh lumulutang sa ere. =) and I think its the fatigue factor din..parang araw araw na lang sila nag training...grabe =)
