yeah the rookies of ust are really strong.. i cant help but compare them with ateneo's once again. maru really is a bernal in the making..... im sure magaling xa ksi she's keeping caballejo at bay. to think that caballejo has a year of experience already.....
im realling eyeing an ADMu - USt finals( kung hindi gagana ang contrapelo ng FEU against admu)
why? sila ksi pinaka intact.
ADMu: fille is really IN. she was a scoring machine against UP, then again it was UP but i hopethat it was a good sign to think that UP is quite strong in blockings as well. It was just alarming that other player werent really playing as intensely as before....... Gervacio had so many long hits which are really diofferent from her last season's perforamnce.... she can definitely BAON balls but it wasnt shown on her first game. Charo , my idol, was also playing abit too relaxed......i dont think that lack of training kept her cold.... i think that it was more of a lazy game for her. Kara was really awesome and she plays really smart now......and the power. oh my. bea played beter than HO last game. although HO's power really is intensifying.
they'll have to keep an eye on maizo lng. that's going to be charo and HO's job. maru and angge are not really that tall, so definitely admu should stay with the net at all times. we all know how poor their floor defence is.
UST: im not really familiar with them but i know they're a force to reckon with. they'll have to confuse charo at the center if they want therir quicks to get in.....(BAlse was easily neutralized by charo's block last confe, Ortiz and ROx should be easier). they'll have an easier game with HO since she's shorter. maru has to play smartly and make her beach volley experience useful.....ange is still deceivingly strong(super lutong) but she cant go power baon lng lagi..... admu's a labrte-trained blocking team....they are good blockers against short hitters. kelagan nya gumamit ng kotiing bernal off the block power hits.
we all know the rivalry between these two teams. i hope they'll show their best come sunday.

Injured si Judy at matagal pa bago siya makalaro.
Hindi nilagay sa V-League lineup ang mga rookies ng FEU. Andun sila sa Arena kahapon at nagchi-cheer sa team nila.

V-League: Tigresses rip Lady Tams, seize solo lead 10/14/2009 | 02:55 PM
University of Santo Tomas seized the solo lead after trouncing erstwhile co-leader Far Eastern University, 17-25, 28-26, 25-22, 25-17, Tuesday night in the Shakey’s V-League Season 6 second conference at the Arena in San Juan City.
Angeli TabaqueroTeam skipper Aiza Maizo posted a conference high-26 points while comebacking Angeli Tabaquero chipped in 12 hits to lead the back-to-back seeking Tigresses to their second straight win.
The Tigresses dropped the first frame against the Lady Tams but bounced back by sweeping the next three sets to post a fitting follow-up to their 25-18, 17-25, 25-17, 25-16 opening-day victory over Adamson.
“Medyo tentative pa talaga sila. Nagkakapaan pa sa laro kasi hindi pa talaga ganun katagal na nakakapag-ensayo nang magkakasama. But hopefully, mga ilang games pa, makakapag-adjust na rin lahat ng mga players," said UST Coach Cesael de los Santos.
Cherry Vivas led the Lady Tams’ losing cause with 20 hits while Shaira Gonzales scored 19 points as FEU dropped to second spot in a tie with the Lady Falcons with a 1-1 win-loss slate.
UST’s solid blocking proved to be their primary weapon against the Lady Tams, posting 15 blocks in all, 11 from Maizo herself and the rest from Maika Ortiz.
Coach de los Santos was also satisfied with how quickly reinforcement Roxanne Pimentel and rookie Maruja Banaticla are adjusting to the UST system. The duo punched in 10 points each after posting only four and seven points, respectively, in their first outing.
“Sana magtuluy-tuloy na kasi malaking tulong talaga silang dalawa at sana hindi lang sila, mag-step up na rin sana yung iba," said de los Santos. - GMANews.TV

Bernal-Ortiz-Maizo Dmac-Ortiz-Tabaquero
Naku sobrang lakas na ata........hahah!

UST tossers grab solo lead By FRANCIS SANTIAGO October 14, 2009, 4:43pm
Games on Friday (Blue Eagle Gym) 4 p.m. – Adamson vs UP 6 p.m. – Lyceum vs UST
Rookie Maru Banaticla, taking the scoring slack in the absence of injured veteran spiker Judy Caballejo, came through with an array of powerful spikes to lead University of Santo Tomas to a thrilling 17-25, 28-26, 25-22, 25-17 win over Far Eastern University and into the solo lead of the Shakey’s V-League Tuesday at The Arena in San Juan.
Playing like a grizzled veteran, the 5-foot-6 open spiker from the UST high school finished with 10 kills, including three in succession at the close of the second frame which proved to be the push the Tigresses needed to overcome a poor start and claim their second straight win.
After blasting Adamson in Sunday’s opener, UST struggled in the face of FEU’s strong first set performance but got its confidence back after their impressive second set win where they rallied from a 20-23 deficit.
Behind the hot hands of team captain Aiza Maizo, the Tigresses tied the count at 24-all – thanks to an FEU miscue.
Setter Rhea Dimaculangan then made it 25-24 for UST, but Cherry Vivas rose to the occasion, coming up with another bullet-like smash to tie the count at 25-all before taking a 26-25 lead on UST’s miscue.
Banaticla, the UAAP beach volleyball rookie of the year, however, rose to the occasion to deliver the lethal shots that ended their struggle.
Getting a good set up from her teammates, Banaticla rattled off three consecutive power kills to flatten the Lady Tams as the fans broke into a frenzied celebration.
“It was the turning point of the game,” said UST coach Shaq Delos Santos, referring to their thrilling second set win. “From there, we came back to life and won. And she (Banaticla) made it all happen.”
Team captain Maizo led UST with season-high 26 hits, which she underscored with seven blocks while returning Angeli Tabaquero added 12.
Though slowed by age, Rox Pimentel, the 35-year-old UST guest player, used her vast experience to strung up 10 points, all coming from attacks.
“We had a rough start because of inconsistencies, but overall they played well,” said Delos Santos, adding that Banaticla seemed to be fit for the void left by Caballejo, who is recuperating from a back injury.
Shaira Gonzalez and guest player Rachel Daquis combined for 34 hits in a losing cause for FEU, which absorbed its first defeat after thumping University of the Philippines last Sunday.

nababagalan kasi ako kay fortuno. I can see Carangan can play it better.
