Congratulations UST. End of the road for Bernal-Balse in the UAAP. But a bigger stage is up for the both - RP Team and Vleague. The Legacy for the both will always be remembered. They gave UST its 13th Women's Title last year.
It will be difficult to fill in the shoes of Balse-Bernal but thats the sad reality of Life, Players come and go..but on a lighter note, we will definitely be seeing new talents for this team.
Congratulations for putting up a good fight, It was a roller-coaster ride. FEU was a tough customer. I hope lessons will be learned.
Adios!

Hello everyone! I know many are still hurting with the loss. Cannot still believe that the season is over. To those who watched the game live like me, it was a fun and great game actually! For UAAP wednesday game, The Arena was packed with students and supporters from both schools. You can feel the intensity right from the beginning. One of the greatest games played. (It's really better to watch games like this live. Sulit! Hehe!)

Heads up everyone! Nothing to be ashamed of. ;D It was a fun and great season for the UST-WVT. They never failed to amaze us in all of their games may it be a win or a loss. They did their best to defend the title but unfortunately they fell short. It was a roller coaster ride for the UST-WVT. They had their spate of winning and losing games. But still all of you... their fans and supporters never gave up. And because of that, they remain as Champions in our heart. To the graduating players...thank you so much! These girls made their mark in this school. We will never forget all the things you have brought in this school. To all those who cheered and supported them this season 70... many thanks! We are so proud of you! By the way...Congratulations FEU![glow=red,2,300] THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES![/glow] UST-WVT SEASON 70...NOW SIGNING OFF!LET ME HEAR YOU SAY... [glow=yellow,2,500] VIVA SANTO TOMAS!!![/glow]

But it was definitely one, if not the greatest game ever fought in UAAP v-ball. Nail bitting action. You'll never know kung sino talga mananalo until the 5th set was over.
It was a great fight for the tigresses this season, no doubt!

Obstacles are necessary for success because victory comes only after many struggles and countless defeats. Yet each struggle, each defeat, sharpens your skills and strengths, your courage and your endurance, your ability and your confidence and thus each obstacle is a comrade-in-arms forcing you to become better… or quit. Each rebuff is an opportunity to move forward; turn away from them, avoid them, and you throw away your future.

a few points regarding the game:
*as usual, the floor defense of ust in the first two sets was incredibly annoying and frustrating... on the 3rd and 4th set, we saw people (other than angeli tabaquero) really dive for the ball, thus it sparked a good offensive run for ust...
*i think feu got a few lucky breaks on the fifth set... i was really praying for a ust win...
*i think the coaching staff should have made tan set the whole game... i normally criticize tan's game and praise dimaculangan's, but as what i've seen a while ago, dimaculangan's sets were too high... they were very easily read by the opposing blockers... with that said, i think that tan should be trained more intensively as a setter, because a tall setter is really an asset... enjoy na enjoy ako sa hulog knina ni tan, npa wow ako tlga nun... hahah!
*i literally wanted to shoot hannah mance in the first two sets... because she ended being more of a liability on the blocking department rather than an asset... but in all fairness to her, she showed good blocking on the 3rd and 4th set... ntuwa din ako dun sa isang spike nia na sa backrow ng feu npunta...
*correct me if i'm wrong, but i think that lazaro seemed a bit more effective than curato in the libero position... curato often undergoes mental lapses which is a big no-no for a libero...
*tabaquero really played well today, she will be the top gun of the ust squad next year... i'll be anticipating that...
*i have been criticizing daquis often these past few days, but let me commend her spirit in today's game... even if i wasn't able to watch it live, i was able to feel her hustle, spirit and drive to win the game... you can really feel her passion...
*during the middle half of the 2nd set, i resigned to the fact that perhaps feu is really a stronger team... i even lost my nervousness because i thought that its already over... but during the middle stages of the 3rd set, and into the fourth and final set, i realized that ust CAN really beat feu...
**in conclusion, it was a game worth losing for the ust lady tigers, because they have nothing to be ashamed of. it was one of the best uaap games i've watched... i have never seen aiza maizo or lilet mabbayad play, but from what i've read in forums, they are really really good players, so it seemed like ust suffered the biggest loss this season... anyway, with those things said, ust should now focus on doing better next season!

My Two Cents In my opinion, the UAAP teams are comparible to the strong international teams. For example, UST plays a similar game to RUSSIA. They are very conservative with their plays. High balls on the left side. And quick to moderate slides to the right and open and quick sets to the middle. They rely heavily on their open spikers. FEU on the other hand, Plays like CUBA. Both use the very technical and difficult 6-2 formation. They are not that tall, with some exemptions. But their plays are fairly intermediate but supported by the quickness of their hand and wrist action. Plus both teams are probably the most athletic. SEMANA reminds me of a shorter AGUERO. ADAMSON reminds me of JAPAN. Very scrapy and innovative. The best floor defence. And very quick. They make up their lack of height by having the best over-all court sense and ball-handling skills. DLSU reminds me of BRAZIL. All Spikers in the court can hit the ball from every position. Offensively, has the most options. Doesn't rely on one particular side of the net. But like BRAZIL, DLSU is very prone to errors and mental toughness. Both always seem to lose when it comes to critical games. ADMU reminds me of the current ITALIAN team, with AGUERO of CUBA. Like ITALY, ADMU rely heavily on one particular player. AGUERO for ITALY, and CHARO SORIANO for ADMU. And both players are very reliable, and can hit from any position. Right, left, middle, and even form the back. Both teams are average when it comes to their playing style. i agree with you on this one... but i just can't help but think of the name of nadia centoni (of italy, i dunno if you know her) when i hear the italian team or when i hear charo soriano's name because they are very very identical because nadia centoni's backrow attacks are very very deadly...
