V League: Adamson spikers beat Ateneo, earn first semis spot

MANILA, Philippines - Adamson University booked the first semifinals spot when it pulled a 30-32, 21-25, 25-16, 25-21, 16-14, triumph over Ateneo de Manila University on Sunday during the continuation of the elimination action of the Shakey's V-League Season 5 at The Arena in San Juan.

Michelle Segodine's strong kill broke the 14-all tie in the deciding set, inspiring her teammates to complete the come-from-behind triumph and ending the two-hour encounter.

The Lady Eagles were in control of the first two sets before failing at the Falcons' power game.

With the defeat, the Eagles absorbed their third defeat in six matches.

Earlier, Lyceum defeated Far Eastern U also in five sets, 25-17, 16-25, 20-25, 25-20, 16-14, for its third triumph in six games.

By the way, kahit ano pa sabihin mo kritiko, FEU still lost the game. FEU, defending champs sa UAAP, 1-7 sa Shakey's V-League. Diba hindi maganda tignan?

Do you think Coach Ness and the rest of the team plus school officials like this kind of record? I don't think so. Sinasabi lang nila na gagamitin nila ang tournament para i-train ang mga younger players but the fact still remains na kulelat ng team ngayon sa standings.

Kung sasali ka sa isang tournament, dapat ang mga best players ang ipasok. You play to win that's why only the best should play. Kung gagamitin mo lang na parang practice ground ang V-league, dapat huwag na lang magpa tournament kasi bumababa ang quality ng laro.

Anyway, this is my opinion on the matter.
