feu did play well.really well in fact.but the thread is about the finals game 3 and the dirty finger thing happened during that game so i believe we can discuss it here.it's not bashing if it's not personal naman.the players did it so we should be free to talk about it.all i'm saying is that what "those" players did was in BAD TASTE..

about dirty finger, sa 4thset nangyari un by Magnaye, pansin ko lng at in my opinion,, ng-iba kc yung intensity nung 4th set dahil sa maling pgtawag ng REferee pabor sa UST kahit kitang kita sa reply na checkball un pero nanindigan yung ref sa mali at kinampihan ng UST yung tawag ng Ref, kaya naiinis yung FEU fans pati na rin yung players,kaya nung nakakalamang na yung FEU todo ikot sila sa loob ng court at ayun nawala sa sarili yung isang player ng FEU...I agree pangit at bad talaga yng ginawa nya, and sana hindi igeneralize ng iba yung ginawa nya for the whole community of FEU...hindi nman lahat ng tao pare-pareho ng ugali at hindi lahat pare-pareho ng pgpapalaki ng magulang kaya sana hindi mageneralize yung ginawa nya for FEU...

-UAAP volleyball: UST, FEU bags men’s and women’s division titles’-

The University of Santo Tomas (UST) Tiger Spikers bucked the odds to defeat erstwhile champions Far Eastern University (FEU) in five-sets: 25-20, 23-25, 25-19, 20-25, 15-11; to bag the 70th UAAP men’s volleyball title Sunday night before a big crowd at The Arena in San Juan.

Open Spiker Rene Roque, who bagged the Most Valuable Player (MVP) trophy award after the game, had a slow start but scored six crucial points down the stretch to help his team pull off the hard-earned victory.

The victory was sweet for the Espana-based spikers as they dethroned an FEU-squad who has won three-straight UAAP men’s volleyball crown since 2005. The Morayta-based spikers were looking for a four-peat of sorts in yesterday’s game but were stopped on their tracks by a Santo Tomas squad who were determined to bring back loss glory in the sport.

UST, it was recalled, last won a men’s volleyball crown in the 2003 season.

The Tiger Spikers was led by the 22 points of Henry James Pecana followed by John Paul Torres’ 13 and Rene John Balse who also contributed 13 markers.

UST head coach Emil Lontoc said his boy’s composure down the stretch proved to be the key in their five-set of a thriller victory.

“When we lost the fourth set, I told the boys na sundin lang ang plays namin at i-contain si (Edjet) Mabbayad (FEU player). It was a good thing sumunod sila at nakuha namin ang korona,” Lontoc said in a phone interview.

Lontoc, at the same time, said that the boisterous FEU crowd also did not rattle the morale of his players, who are mostly rookies and sophomores.

“Prior to the start of the championship series, I told them (players) not to be affected by the crowd. Laruin lang nila ang mga plays at makukuha namin ang titolo," he said.

The victory was also sweet for graduating players Jerome Say and second setter Glenn Artajos as this was the first time they won a championship.

Meanwhile, the FEU Lady Spikers defeated the Adamson Lady spikers in five sets: 14-25, 25-19, 23-25, 25-21, 15-9; the bag the women’s title.

FEU’s Wendyanne Semana was named MVP in the women’s division. The Lady Tamaraws, it was recalled, last won the crown in the 2002-03 season.

Mrs. Felicitas Francisco, UAAP Board Secretary and Fr. Ermito De Sagon, OP. UAAP President, led the awarding ceremonies.

Tama si Abbie. Wala naman problema mag open ng katotohanan sa ginawa ng FEU player. Anyway, sorry kung feeling ng FEU fans eh nage-generalize na sila. Pero sa mga nanood, mas marami talagang FEU fans ang over sa pag-cheer at pag boo sa UST crowd.
