UE, UST beat foes in UAAP junior volleyball
Defending boys' champion University of the East (UE) and girls' leader University of Santo Tomas (UST) remained unscathed after defeating their opponents in the volleyball tournament of the Universities Athletics Association of the Philippines (UAAP) held over the weekend at the UE Gym.
In the boys' game, the Junior Red Shirts reasserted their mastery over the Tiger Cubs, 25-14, 25-15, 25-20, to improve their record to 5-0, according to UAAP statement released on Monday.
In the girls' game, the Junior Tigresses extended their winning run to four by defeating the University of the Philippines Integrated School, 19-25, 25-12, 25-17, 25-14.
Behind UST in second place are defending girls' titlist UE, who posted a 25-16, 25-20, 25-13 win over La Salle-Zobel to improve their record to 3-1.
The Junior Archers are on second spot behind the Junior Red Shirts in the boys' standings with a 5-1 record after scoring two straight wins.
