gender issues are not a concern when they have to do with fairness in levels of competition.
ano naman ang nakakahiya sa pagkatalo? and, hey, alyssa has only played one game. to say that she isn't winning anything is unfair and to equate it with shame as a flag-bearer is crazy. wala namang requirement na kailangan kampeyon ang tagabitbit ng bandila a.
this is pure unnecessary negativity.

If FIVB said pwede maglaro ang ganito ganyan. Pwede. We can't do nothing about it kahit unfair sa mata natin, sa iba hindi. I'm just saying it as it is. Alyssa should've never been the flagbearer cause wala pa naman napapatunayan siya internationally.Much better pa nga sa basketball dahil alam mo may chance sila.

with the issue about manganang, yes it's a done-deal, but you were making a general statement about lgbt issues and that's what i answered. as an example, there's this former male brazilian player na naglaro sa isang dutch women's league as a naturalized player. the dutch league out of goodwill allowed her to continue to play there, but in the national team, hindi. they made it clear that he can't play in the national team kasi lalake pa rin ang pangangatawan niya kahit nagpa-sex change operation na siya.
where on earth did you get your basis for nominating a flag bearer?? no such thing exists! anyone can be named, champion or not. and her being the choice is no small matter either: she was nominated because of the rising popularity of volleyball here. she's a recognizable face especially among the youth, and that can draw and channel a lot of support to the entire contingent at the games.

Close ka ba kay April na parang you're so sure na lalake nga siya. That's the point. Do you really think the accusations made painted us filipinos in a good way? Al-Jhazeera is already running this news and we are not the protagonists on this issue.Cant wait for twitter to make another "Has Justine Landed Yet..." Outrage.
I will never make accusations based on physical appearance/strength only. Looks can be deceiving after all. Those accusations made us only looked like we're not up to the challenge. In the end, should Philippines actually made a case, I'll be running naked on the streets pero kung hindi eh di wow.
There are more athletes who deserves that.

Madaling mafake ng male blockers natin.Mahina na kasi fd natin, samahan mo pa ng late blockers or sobrang early blocks for an easy crosscourt kill. I think we are good sa attacking but lack yung combis like pipe, bic which is expected for an inexperienced team like ours. Pero just like the saying, you need that garbage hitter sa opposite. Although Torres is proving himselt as a world class middle hitter, kapag nasa likod na siya at likod din ang opposite, the open hitter gets stuffed easily because the other middle can't do a fast slide like Torres. When Torres naman sa harap, the responsibilty goes to him and with this the setter he has to do all his best to make it look like he's setting to Torres.

where in our string of discussions did i say na lalake si april?? all i said was that lgbt isn't an issue when it comes to keeping competition levels even.
once again, i ask you this: what's wrong alyssa being made a flag-bearer?
i haven't seen the game against myanmar yet, but in the match against malaysia, we had a lot of block points against their middle hitters and offense points with de guzman running stack and cross plays. ang hindi nga lang maganda kay de guzman ay nawala 'yung laro niya sa pldt na "wing" hitter talaga. pang-quick combinations lang siya. his back row attacks were often just roll shots and his off-system plays were very safe. pareja wasn't as prominent sa attacks (i'm not sure i remember seeing his name on the top performer tables), and i think camposano is a better attacker than he. intal and franco (torres's substitute) aren't good slide attackers pero they scored well in front- and back-of-setter quick attacks. but indeed myanmar is on a different level. kahit sa u23, natalo nila ang australia (if i'm not mistaken). noong 2009 na asian championships pa lang, their opposite hitter played with power, just like how many higher-level teams play. watching our team play on an international level made me see how kulelat we are sa skills and plays.
speaking of torres, simang siya the whole game yesterday. what was up with him??

UAAP level lang pala ang play ng Malaysian NT. medyo underwhelming yung win ng PHL for me. dami kasing errors lalo na sa service. tsaka parang the usual level lang din ang laro ng mga players. nothing spectacular.
with that kind of performance, i don't think kakayanin natin ang Vietnam. I just hope na may nilulutong plays si gora.

Sad talo Phil. Pero expected naman talaga. I really hope may natutunan mga girls. Dami natin errors, di tayo steady, we need more experience playing against international teams and most importantly, we need time to prepare and improve our teamwork.
The good: offense The bad: defense
IMHO, coach Roger is not the best coach for our National Team.
Nice try Philippine Team. Thank you for all your sacrifices. Kahit talo atleast you were given a chance to compete. Hindi yung di kayo papayagan sumali kasi hindi gold medal contender.

nakita ninyo si daquis mag-back row attack? nakarami rin siya a at hindi lang after-thought/incidental plays na no choice na ibigay sa kaniya. sana si coach tai na lang sa national team. o kaya kahit sinong foreign coach. a US coach would be great!
