Major upset yung sa Brazil. One key difference I noticed was sobrang hindi masyado as offensive sina Thaisa and Fabiana. It was all Sheilla, Garay and Natalia.
Netherlands is the true darkhorse of the competition.

Thaisa was still not 100% due to her knee surgery last year. Ibang iba ang laro ng Thaisa before the surgery. Juciely was an able replacement pero iba pa rin kasi ang dalang intimidation si Thaisa. Oh well, regroup and revamp na siguro ang line up nila kasi most of them will pass their 30s come Tokyo 2020. This may be the last hurrah for the veterans. Gabi and Natalia will lead this team now.
I'll put my money to either Netherlands or Serbia to win the gold. I don't like USA to win para di masyadong masakit. HAHAHA!

Bad trip! That winning point of Serbia almost made me cry. Gets ko na ang mga tard na ang OA ng reaksiyon pag natatalo ang Arneyow o La Salle nila.
BTW, Aksyon TV aired that semis match live. Mukhang may balak silang ipalabas pati ang men's games.

HAHAHA! Serbia stunned USA in 5 sets. Wow, just wow!! My first prediction na Serbia ang makakapasok sa Finals eh nagkatotoo. Sana mamaya Netherlands naman. All European teams sa Finals. Either sa kanila deserving manalo. Sana wag lang lopsided 3 setter. Extend na sa 5 sets para exciting!

I stayed to finish the match before going to work kasi I wanted to see them win. Ayun, bigat ng balikat ko at masakit ang dibdib kasi talo nga. Sana talaga ipalabas nila ng live ang Volleyball games. Not to be unfair to them pero di sila nagpapalabas ng volleyball games during the pool matches. Mas more focused sila sa Basketball and other events. |

China marched into the Finals after beating Netherlands in 4 close-contested sets and behind Zhu Ting's 33 points. Nothing to ashamed for Netherlands for their first Olympics.
It will be Serbia and China in the gold medal match.

I think Serbia has the advantage in terms of athleticism. Zhu Ting can't do it all.
Sayang Brazil. Age finally caught up with them.
USA without Foluke was sad to watch. Hill had the worst game at the wrong time. Also, Ognjenovic is arguably the best setter in the world.
If Zhu Ting gets ample offensive support from everyone, they stand a good chance. Very excited to see this match. Asia vs Europe ulit.

This sucks supremely. Even the MVT of USA falls in the semis. The only other volleyball team left that I support is Brazil's MVT. USA almost had it in the fourth set.  I agree about Ognjenovic. I think she's got to get the other hitters more involved too, however, especially Boskovic and the middles. |
