sports.inquirer.net/sportsevents/sportsevents/view/20090927-227110/Asian-volley-opening-washed-outAsian volley opening washed out By Jasmine W. Payo Philippine Daily Inquirer First Posted 05:46:00 09/27/2009 Filed Under: Sports Events, Volleyball MANILA, Philippines—The Philippines’ hosting of the 15th Asian Men’s Senior Volleyball Championship got off to an unfortunate start as flooded venues forced organizers to cancel Saturday the opening rites and games of the regional event that drew over 200 volleyball players from 18 countries. “All the games scheduled Saturday were postponed until further notice due to severe weather conditions,” Philippine Volleyball Federation vice president Gener Dungo said in a statement Saturday. “Our apologies. The PVF will keep everyone posted regarding the changes in schedule.” Event organizers canceled the six games slated Saturday at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium and San Andres Gym in Manila due to heavy flooding caused by Typhoon “Ondoy.” Top spikers from Australia, Qatar, Maldives, Lebanon, Iran, Myanmar, Kazakhstan, Chinese-Taipei, Thailand, Indonesia, India, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, Korea, Japan and China recently arrived here to compete in the 10-day event.

talo RP team against Myanmar, sad. Bawi na lang.
Ask Chris Macasaet why they lost. He should learn when to do the right thing in the most crucial time. I'm sorry.

His 20-80 success rate jump serve or even 10% success rate jump serve. If im not mistaken, he has given more points to the opponent than to his team through his jump serve. She was like Gervacio then. He doesn't know the term sure service. He keep on doing the same mistake especially when they were lagging on the 5th set. 14 all and then his turn to serve and again and again, jump serve. Myanmar got the momentum. Boom.
Anyway, it was not really our day!

I'm not against Chris, actually I like him as a player but his performance was not commendable. Sorry. He's too young for the RP Team.

The games were held at San Andres Gym in Manila. I think Myanmar was the only team that we could beat in the Group. tsk tsk.
The favorites to grab the crown are China, Korea, Australia(defending champ), and Japan.
The RP first 6: Open: Mabayyad and Penetrante Middle: Honrade and Macasaet Utility and team captain: Alinsunurin Setter: Lopez
