Mixed emotions with today's outcome....heavy-hearted (especially after seeing Ortiz teary-eyed! She definitely gave her all this season!)but with an optimistic spirit...
So sad to see Rhea on her final game in her UAAP career...She definitely not only filled the void left by my all-time favorite Tigress, Denise Tan, but even surpassed my expectations!!!
Though this is not the end of the road for them..Like what almost everybody said, there is a bright future ahead of the team especially at the helm of a brilliant and emphatic coach and addition of promising rookies! Can't wait to see them back in action come V-League!!!
PETITION V-League guest players: Balse, Maizo and another versatile player who can play open or middle like Dahlia Cruz or Joanne Bunag just to cover all bases!!!
P.S. I don't think we lost because our veteran open-hitters, Maru and Caballejo, did not step-up....they struggled because Rhea had a hard time get to the 2nd ball and set it after Morado's shaky reception. Morado really had a horrible reception today. Hope she does a Curato-style-of-improvement come V-League! It's really hard for a team to be competitive with a shaky and unreliable reception no matter how offensive they are. As for Lastimosa, she's too emotional which I think is detrimental to her and causes her a lot of mental lapses. Unless she learns to keep her emotions in check and lose some weight...I doubt it if she will emerge as a superstar in the future...Most probably at best, hopefully she becomes steadier on her third year. Personally, I prefer Carmela Tunay included in the first six line-up. This girl has so much promise and will surely deliver given enough exposure and experience. ;-)
