Iran defeated Serbia 3-2. Wow, naglaro ba si Ivan Miljkovic? yup.. maybe breaks of the game.. sayang kasi ala pa yatang panalo ang Serbia sa first round.. medyo di sila ganun ka solid sa offense at Iran was a revelation. ang ganda ng offense at defense nila.. at mga plays mabibilis eh...

I have a feeling na Russia is poised to win next year's Olympic Games Gold Medal. Ewan ko lang ha but they seem to be the most consistent of all the teams plus they have a pretty young yet solid line up unlike Brazil or USA. Brazil halos puro matatanda na while USA si Matt Anderson lang yung bata.

may transition period na nga.. ang Russia is successful in doing that.. young yet reliable players na.. si Khtey na lang mga medyo matanda pero me mga able players naman in the bench waiting for their spot inside the court.. maybe they have a big chnace come London 2012.. but who knows.. bilog ang bola.. malayo pa ang 2012 at marami pa ang pwedeng mangyari..

in theory, yes. but the setter has to be really good at it. also, it might be a reflection that your team is not as good, making opponents' preparation against you easier. maganda nga yun dba?? offensive minded ang setter.. di alam ng kalaban kung aatake siya or iseset yung bola..

Irrelevant post:
Ngayon lang ako ulit nanood ng Men's International Volleyball after ng Olympics, and the Brazilian guys are not aging gracefully. Pumangit si Giba and si Sergio (libero)

^^ yan din ang napansin ko kay giba. he's not "hunky" as he used to be LOL.
I agree na maganda ang transition ng Russia from old to young. I'm quite disappointed with Serbia's performance. After winning the Euro Champs eh pati lowly ranked Iran eh tinalo sila. I've seen Iran played live at may potential talaga sila. Brazilian style ang laro nila.

I think he bulked up, maybe too much. With the beard and the long hair and the bulk, medyo nakakatakot siyang makita sa daan. Before he looked like Jesus Christ.

Wow! Serbia must be playing really bad.
Brazil vs. Italy = epic! TG naabutan ko yung fifth set. I guess the rivalry is back. Visotto is keeping Theo's ass on the bench. At ang ganda lang for Brazil to have two able setters na kayang magpalitan at di nadidisrupt ang rhythm nila. For Italy, Lasko must be kept as the starting OPP. Ok na si Fei sa gitna, with the way Lasko is playing. Pansin ko lang most of the southpaws are their teams best players.

In the other side, Argentina lost to Poland. The Poles looked more like the European Champs than the Serbians. Ang laking tulong din siguro ng pagbabalik ng mga former players nila. Ang galing nung Nowakowski, he's been unstoppable in 3 matches. PS. His face looks so calm, total opposite ni Bartman, LOL.

There's a huge advantage kung south paw yung naglalaro as opposite. I wonder why it's not done too often sa women's game. si neslihan darnel lang yung nakikita ko. and she's good too.

Ok na si Fei sa gitna, with the way Lasko is playing. Pansin ko lang most of the southpaws are their teams best players. But I think the offensive workload given to Lasko was just too much. Zaytsev and their middles are able hitters. Pangit yung reception so it's understood why less plays were given to the middles.
