^^ unfortunately hindi nag-fit si fawcett sa system ni hugh. fawcett was actually a left side hitter but since her reception is not that good she has to play the opposite position. she can't play the fast ball system in that position. but i believe that fawcett deserves to be in the team more than haneef. she has power as her main weapon. i was also thinking na baka gawing opposite si hodge since her reception is not really impressive. mahilig din naman sya sa fast sets. lock in na si tom at larson sa starting 6 as OH. I agree. Sayang talaga si Nicole Fawcett. I've been saying this before, kung may "armswing" lang na pwedeng ipantapat from the US against the best of the world, it has to be Fawcett's. She has sheer power, problem is she is verrrrry inconsistent. She can play world-class today then be a bust the next day. I think Hugh wants a back-up for Hooker who's proven, experienced and can contribute right away given Hooker's limited volleyball experience. Sayang si Sarah Pavan! Kung naging American lang siya. Ok si Hodge as opposite, she's athletic, she's a good blocker, problem is she s*cks big time on out-of-system sets. Ganung mga tipong sets pa naman kadalasan binibigay sa Opposite kasi nga bail-out hitters sila. Though no doubt Megan can crush the ball during in-system plays.

^ really?? bakit parang ang bilis niya noong nasa montreux siya? "Mas bumilis" nga si Haneef-Park. Napansin ko din yun during the Montreux. Dahil siguro sa coaching tactics ni Hugh na faster sets so Haneef-Park has adjusted. Nung Montreux may mga times na nahuhuli siya kaya nabo-block but as what I've read nung scrimmage nila a few days ago, she was one of the best players on the gym. Surprisingly, another veteran also played very well. Ding ding ding! Scott-Arruda!

RE: The absence of Cardullo, Piccinini, and Ferretti Cardullo is easily one of the best liberos in the world (I think Sano, Fabi, and the one from Dominican Republic yung iba pa), but Italy has a whole line of other liberos waiting in the wings. Croce can fill up her position, not as well, but enough for people not to worry about the slot being a liability. I'm worried about the absence of a reliable OH2 though, Piccinini is both a reliable hitter and defender (pero in 2011, not so much sa attack). They have two options in Bosetti or Costagrande. Bosetti = good defender, mediocre attacker. Costagrande = mediocre defender, good attacker. They might opt for Costagrande instead for better attack options, but the team needs all the defense they can get since their main gunner is a middle blocker, unless they decide to make Gioli play opposite which was a horrible idea. Ferreti on the other hand is easily replaceable. The Ferreti-Guiggi connection was Pesaro's bread and butter before but Guiggi declined, so did Ferreti. With Guiggi's absence, hindi rin ganun kalaking loss si Ferreti. Many Italian setters can play the position of back-up setter (kung back-up lang naman). Signorile is good. Buti na lang hindi si Rondon yung kinuha pero Rondon can be a backup setter din naman. Hopefully, nothing happens wrong with Lo Bianco. Excited for Paola Croce. I was a fan before. Sayang lang talaga si Cardullo and Merlo. Napaka injury prone naman ng Italian liberos. I think Del Core and Lucia Bosetti will start, Costagrande and Caterina Bosetti as back up OHs. Signorile is good but Ferretti has more experience, IMHO. No Rondon please! Enough of her, my gosh, worst setter ever (Exag but you get my point). Just wondering kung kasama ba sa World Cup si Jenny Barraza? If not, expect Gioli-Anzanello to start.

no offense meant, but when i saw her play sa montreux this year, haneef looked like andrei the giant trying to fit into a minicar front seat. she had to roll her shots a few times to many. or maybe that was just me. lol. scott-arruda eh? mccutcheon's pulling all the stops. for something as crucial as the world cup, i understand it, with akinradewo still not making a good connection with berg. is sykora good to play for the world cup? ^ really?? bakit parang ang bilis niya noong nasa montreux siya? i believe every team participating in the World Cup have a chance for that 3 spots for the Olympics.. i have a feeling that there will be upsets and underdogs will come to play big time.. hope the Brazilian team will finish in the top three... and hope they will perform on top level volleyball..

nung 2010 grand prix si a. glass ang setter nila. the reason why she was hailed as mvp was because she's getting good connection with glass. unfortunately this season hindi pa yata sya sanay sa bato ni berg but im sure coach hugh will do something about it. akinradewo's better connection with berg will surely compensate hooker's absence. sokolova is back and will surely add stability and more offensive option to the russian team. this world cup will surely be an event not to miss. no offense meant, but when i saw her play sa montreux this year, haneef looked like andrei the giant trying to fit into a minicar front seat. she had to roll her shots a few times to many. or maybe that was just me. lol. scott-arruda eh? mccutcheon's pulling all the stops. for something as crucial as the world cup, i understand it, with akinradewo still not making a good connection with berg. is sykora good to play for the world cup? ]

Yes, hindi kasama ang Russia sa World Cup. Maybe Swimbod21 meant yung Olympic Qualification to be held in Russia..

pre-olympic qualification yata muna, then the olympic qualification na. if i'm not mistaken, it's composed of three or four pools, with russia hosting a pool.
