Montreux, March 31, 2011 – 2010 FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix champions USA and FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Championship bronze medalists Japan will be two of the teams set to compete at the Montreux Volley Masters from June 7-12 in Switzerland after organisers released the schedule on Thursday.
They will be joined by Italy, Germany, the Netherlands, China, Cuba and Peru on the shores of Lac Leman for the six-day contest.
The tournament will act as preparation for the 2011 FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix for USA, Japan, Italy, Cuba, Germany and China, all of whom are taking part in the premier annual volleyball competition.
The event is now in its 23rd year and is officially recognised by the FIVB, which sits just up the lake from Montreux in Lausanne.
The eight teams will be split into two pools of four with the top two from each group going onto the semifinals, set to take place on Saturday, ahead of the finals on Sunday.
Last year China beat USA 3-1 in the final to clinch the title, so the Americans will be eager to rectify that this time around.
MATCHES’ SCHEDULE : Pool A : USA (USA), China (CHN), Germany (GER), Peru (PER) Pool B : Japan (JPN), Italy (ITA), Cuba (CUB), The Netherlands (NED)

Tayyiba leads all scorers with 14 points. Tapos Forsett and Kim Glass with 13 each. Nice.
Di ako familiar kay Forsett ah

Di ako familiar kay Forsett ah Forsett is her married name. Maybe more familiar ka with her former name na Angela Pressey. Graduate of UC Berkeley. 5'9 player. Actually medyo tumaas din kilay ko nung nakita ko sa line up si Haneef. Why not give their younger opposites like Fawcett a chance? Speaking of Fawcett, sayang talaga siya. Mukhand di siya type ng coaching staff ng USA hahaha joke! Ang galing-galing kaya niya, she has the best armswing sa team. Palo kung palo. Kahit nung professional league sa Brazil siya ang go-to-girl ng team. Harmotto played okay. Again, she and Akinradewo will be the future of USA middle blockers. I expect her to beat out Tamas for the starting spot once Heather Bown retires. Pangit ang setting ni Alisha Glass ngayon. Hindi makaconnect sa MBs niya. Sana bigyan din ng more playing time si Nellie Spicer. Yun yung mahilig mag utilize sa MB, ;D

Oh yeah. Mag familiar yung maiden name niya. .
What Fawcett's height anyway? . . Mahilig sila sa matatangkad na Opposites eh. Kasing tangkad lang ba siya nina Tayyiba and Hooker?

Tayyiba is 6'7 Fawcett is 6'4 Hooker is 6'4
Yes, mahilig nga sila. Hahaha
USA's "shortest" opposite as of the moment is Nancy Metcalf at 6'1. Cynthia Barboza (6'0) could have been if you consider her an opposite.
Don't worry sa more important games like Grand Prix finals, London games we will see the full-strength USA squad...players like Tom, Hooker, Bown, Akinradewo, Berg, Larson. Medyo nasa stage pa ng evaluating players ang coaching staff ng USA.
