Great game for the Lady Stags! Good luck Lady Blazers to your last game! If you get this one, it will be "La Salle keeping Ateneo alive" hehe.

bakit pala wala ulet dlsu dis conference? haha! sobrang late na ng tanong ko eh noh! hahaha! DLSU is banned indefinitely by V-league for backing out late this conference and it's already the 2nd time around. But DLSU has an answer to that. I already posted this article here but I don't remember where hehe. This is from Manila Bulletin: La Salle coach explains V-League pull out By FRANCIS SANTIAGO October 8, 2009, 7:05pm De La Salle University head coach Ramil De Jesus on Thursday denied reports that the team made a last-minute withdrawal in the second conference of the sixth Shakey’s V-League, which prompted league officials to ban the Lady Archers from joining the country’s biggest collegiate volleyball tournament. “We did not confirm our participation and we didn’t attend the coaches’ meeting so there was no last minute pull out or withdrawal,” said De Jesus, who led the lady Archers to three V-League titles. De Jesus was reacting to the statements made by Tony Liao, the V-League league commissioner, who said Tuesday that they are closing the doors on La Salle after the team made a last minute withdrawal for the second straight conference. La Salle also skipped the first conference of the sixth season early this year, citing a weakened line up and a number of injured players as reasons. “We only had a verbal talk (with Liao) but there was really no formal confirmation,” De Jesus said. Reached for comment, Liao said the fact that they had a verbal agreement, “it is safe to assume that they will rejoin the league after skipping the first conference.” “But then they suddenly texted us nga na they will not participate anymore,” Liao said. Liao also stressed that whether La Salle pulled out at the last minute or not is not anymore important. “I don’t see that a problem anymore. The problem here is apparently they are not giving importance to the league,” Liao said. “The fact na dalawang conference ka nawala is already a statement. Although the league is only by invitation, I don’t think they will still be accepted again.” De Jesus said they did not join the competition this conference because many of their players are rookies, hence, “we cannot compete competitively.”

ok.. bakit naman ganun? ndi naman lahat ng players na lalaro for dlsu are rookies.. meron pa rin namang silang 3 veterans which are high caliber players namely alarca, cruz, and mercado... tpos they have gohing who is one of the best libero's last uaap.... ung setter naman nila is not a rookie anymore... there are only two positions na mababakante with the exit of manila and michelle... e si hernandez? ndi na rin ba xa maglalaro??? ust joined pa rin naman during the 5th conference when baste took the crown... only balse, bernal and tan yung veterans tpos the rest ay rookies, namely co, maika and caballejo... and yet they reached the finals pa rin... wla lang... a lot of people are expecting them to play so medyo disappointed lang ang mga fans... pero if they think that they can't compete competitively with their current line-up, wla na tayong magagawa don.. let's just hope that v-league commisioner tony boy liao does not close his doors to reconciliation with the team... hope next season they'll be able to play again...

Can't compete competitively, players' academic concerns and players' health were some of the reasons I heard why DLSU did not join. Also, Comm Tony Liao used to be the team manager of La Salle Lady Spikers. Now, we all know, he handles the Lady Eagles. But we don't know if he left La Salle for Ateneo, or he left La Salle then decided to manage Ateneo. And we don't know if this is also one reason that prompted DLSU not to join. I agree that they still have a good line up despite the loss of Santos and Datuin. They compete in the Unigames just last month and even reached the finals, but unfortunately lost to the Lady Tigers.
