I believe na kung ma-mention ang pangalan ng player dito sa thread na ito na "Deserving Awardees this Summer V League", it means people recognize that player's skills.
To be hailed as the actual winner is the result of computed statistics, not a poll of opinions.
-------------------------------------------
A thought from my previous post:
Let's say a very strong volleyball player X, from country Y (where Y is not Philippines), enrolled in school Z.
She then qualified as varsity volleyball player for school Z and school Z joined V-League.
V League treats her as a "regular" player, not a GP.
Case 1:
A new rule is imposed that MVP (and other awards) should be awarded to only "regular" players.
Player W, has the highest over-all stats among ALL players.
Player W, is a guest player.
Player X, has the highest over-all stats among all "regular" players.
If Player X wins the award, how will you react?
1.1: Is it fair that Player X wins?
1.2 : Is it fair for Player W (if player W is a filipina)?
1.3 : Is it fair for Player W (if player W is NOT a filipina)?
Case 2:
A new rule wherein no award should be given to other nationalities is imposed, regardless if they are GPs or not
GPs, as long as they are Filipina, are qualified.
Player X, has the highest over-all stats among ALL players.
Player X, as established above is a regular player
Player Q, a filipina GP, has the second highest over-all stats among ALL players
2.1 : If Player Q wins MVP award, how would you react?
--------------------------------------
I believe the point here is that the MVP award is given to the highest ranking player based on over-all verified statistics.
It is scientific, and the most unbiased it can get.
Whoever gets it (Filipina, foreigners, GPs, or regular players), deserves it well.
