Ang forum po na ito ay respectfully named RPSPIKERS, and this thread is specifically named Deserving Awardees this Summer V League and not "PRAISE MJ BALSE" or "MJ BALSE FOR MVP" or "KAY MJ DAPAT, NOT FOR BUALEE". I really dont know why a lot of forumers here think that the forum and/or its threads are dominated by UST Fans (MJ Balse fans for this case). Hindi ko maiwasang mag-reply, kasi nga isa ako sa mga nag-post na dapat or as much as possible ay Local-Born Players ang mabigyan ng MVP Award. Sa akin lang naman, the Imports are acquired from their respective country/ies kasi nga magaling talaga sila. And to be specific, Thai players are better than Filipino players, basing from the fact that Thailand (or its Women's Volleyball Team for this matter) is leading in SouthEast Asia and that they are in the upper portion in the FIVB World Rankings, a very distant position from that of the Philippines (beyond the 60th rank). Ngayon, kung itatapat ang Thai sa isang Pilipino para sa isang award na ukol sa isang Philippine-based League, then it would be quite a give-away to the Thai. Kung ikaw, isang Tunay na Pilipino, do you want to see a person of a different nationality to cup a very prestigious award na pinagsisikapang makuha ng mga kapwa mo Pilipino sa isang LIGANG PARA SA MGA PILIPINO? I really don't think so. Hindi rin dapat na masabihan kami ng unfair, our posts were in a GENERAL tone. Tapos, hindi nakontento, dumayo pa sa Thailand upang maghanap, and out of the many undeniably strong Thai players, siya/sila ang napili. That's enough recognition and/or appreciation already of what they can do in volleyball. Hindi naman eliminated ang possibility na makuha ng Imports ang MVP Award eh, we just hope na Pilipino ang makaukuha, because we think it is much better that way. If you really think Bualee should win the MVP award, then LET HER PROVE IT!!! Kung hindi niya kaya, and that other FILIPINO players are really better than her, then, DO NOT FORCE THE FREAKING ISSUE!!! Don't just come here quacking like an insane duck. You should have had a better composition nung naging post mo, it just rubbed differently, lalo na sa akin. I respect your opinion, pero sana naman irespeto mo rin ang opinion ng iba, and next time, post it properly para hindi magmukhang pang-aaway lang. Thank You.

To assume that one does not do something when all the while you are doing the same is (?, i don't know) It appears that you have not read enough discussions, or that you were just unable to decide the partiality of the posters. Just looking at how many pages UST-related threads reach should give you an idea. try creating a poll like "which is your favorite team?" (and the rule is choose only one team playing in the current conference) Then you would know. Tama ka. I agree. However, I believe the V-League committee treats all guest players with the same level of respect, regadless of their nationality. If they disqualify a guest player of different nationality but qualify a Filipina GP, then, it would somewhat be racist. Kung magdidisqualify ng GP, it should be regardless of their nationality. The argument that this is local volleball league hence MVP awardees must be of local descent may not be valid because foreign players are already allowed. They should not allowed other nationalities to play in the first place. You contradicted yourself. It would follow na enough appreciation na rin dapat sa local guest players ang maging guest player. It would then insinuate the idea na dapat ang MVP ay para sa current students playing for their school. I believe it is purely a strategical move, and not a disrespect of the Filipino's volleyball skills. You have stated statistics above that Thai are generally better than Filipino volleyball players. Hence, the choice. Your statement is dangerous -- coaches (and/or coaching staff choose the guest players). In this conference there are two foreign GPs, Sontaya and Bualee. Bualee, from SSC and Sontaya from ADMU. You are most likely disrespecting, if not insulting, Michelle Laborte and Roger Gorayev with that generalization. Mas lalo itong apparent kay Michelle, because she herself is a Filipina volleyball player. why better? because it's nationalistic? If better kasi pinapakita nito ang kakayanan ng Pilipino sa volleyball, I agree with you. If better for some other reasons, I think I have to disagree. ------------------------------------ MVP awardees are chosen based on their skills, which are statistically validated. They do this to make the choice scientific and unbiased as possible. Whoever wins the award is truly deserving. Our bets may not win, but it does not in any way demean them for not winning so.
