The game was a Patty Taganas' show... I'll have to check the statistics first but if I'm not mistaken, she had the most number of attacks, the most number of blocks, and the most number of service aces... Plus, all the players of ADMU seems to have a good game day a while ago... Bench warmers na nga halos ang pinaglaro sa third set... However, USLS was still unable to catch due to the unstoppable attacks of Em-Orn, Taganas, Soriano, and Acevedo... Bello was able to distribute the ball well, causing the defense of USLS to be erratic...

Ateneo firms up semis bid, routs USLS
Games tomorrow 12 noon – USLS vs St. Benilde 2 p.m. – USJ-R vs FEU
Ateneo outhit, outplayed and outclassed University of St. La Salle-Bacolod to annex a 25-19, 25-11, 25-13 victory yesterday and firm up its semifinal bid in the Shakey’s V-League Season 5 at The Arena in San Juan yesterday.
Patricia Taganas took over the lead role for the Lady Eagles with 15 points she spiked with 11 hits while Thai import Em-orn Phanusit and Ma. Rosario Soriano each had 11 points as Ateneo posted its third straight win in the single round robin phase.
That moved the Loyola-based squad, which also swept Lyceum and St. Benilde, to within two wins from sweeping the round and a victory from ensuring their stint in the semis of the league sponsored by Shakey’s Pizza.
It was the second straight setback by the Bacolod spikers, who dropped a five-setter to the FEU Tams last Tuesday. USLS now needs to sweep its last three games to stay in the hunt for the last semis seat.
Unrelenting in offense, Ateneo also proved unforgiving in defense, holding USLS’ top scorer Kay Aplasca to just nine points and Sheryl Denila, Jade Aplasca, Je-An Ledesma and Sheryl Silva to a combined 20 points.
